Hey folks. First off-- my use isn't for aerial video, but I think those of you that do work in it would be the best people to ask. Basically, what I want to do is transmit a video feed wirelessly from a typical prosumer zoom camera on the sidelines of a high school football field up to my switcher in the press box. So as close as 100 ft, and as far as 300 ft. Not quite direct line of sight, but pretty close. This is for a live web broadcast with 3 cameras.
We have always used cat5 cable with baluns. That's easy for the two cameras that go on the roof of the press box. But for the field camera, that's a lot of line to tape down (and worry about liability), to track down a problem line, and over time, cables are going to go bad from too much use, so the cost adds up.
So do you guys have any products to recommend? Our Tricaster just goes over composite feeds. But, I could get an HDMI to RCA converter box for the Tricaster end if a product that just goes over HDMI is the best option.
I've been looking at this one. I know it's a bit cheap, but if you look in the questions section, someone said that he uses it for aerial video.

I have heard of Camera Motion Research's Radian products being used in higher end video production (not live stuff, but nonetheless). But we don't quite have the budget for something $900.
A little bit of interference/ degradation is probably ok for our use since we are broadcasting in SD and top out at around 800 kbps. But obviously even if it's inexpensive, it would be a waste of money if it's not reliable. Luckily, Amazon's return policy is good.
Thanks!!!
