Looking for a timelapse cam

Hi All,

I own a DVX100A (looking to sell it). I never use it anymore as I have a 5D now.

Anyhoo, I shoot heavy transport projects (like megamovers) that involve extremely large objects weighing 1000's of tons. These moves are really slow and I've been doing more timelapse stuff and it's been working well. I've been using a Nikon D70s and had a problem with the mirror being stuck so I think it's done for. (it's done it's time)

I was thinking of buying a couple of $500.00 Canon's DSLR's to use but got to thinking that I'd rather have a video camera that could record down to say about 4 fps. That would give me a smooth playback and be able to be set to auto so it adjusts for lighting changes such as clouds blocking the sun etc. I have 2 Gopro's and they are nice but I'd like something with a slower frame rate than 30 fps.

Does anyone know of such a cam that would be great for this?

Here's the thing, I'd really like a video camera that will shoot 4fps (or around that). When I'm shooting these mega moves, I have cams setup and sometimes they're far away from each other and I'm on the ground shooting video and stills while these cams are doing their thing. I'm a one man operation so when the moves are happening I can't be everywhere at once and if lighting conditions change, the auto setting will make the changes that are needed.

Another thing is that these moves involve rolling oil platforms off of deck barges and as the load moves off they have to pump ballast water out and the movement is stopped while this is happening, so the cams are running for nothing and taking up card space.

My ultimate deal for this would be a cam that shoots video at 4 fps and would be great to be able to remote control them so I could start/stop them.

I know Gopro has a wifi remote and will be coming out with an app that controls the cams, but the battery gets sucked down pretty fast with it. I like the GoPros but I'd probably have to rig an external battery to power them as these jobs sometimes run 1-4 hours. (I do have the battery paks for them, but you can't use it when you use the wifi pak) The remote deal is awesome and is exactly what I'm looking for except for the lowest frame rate is 30 fps and I have to speed the footage up in post and at 30 fps it takes a lot of speeding up as these moves sometime move at 1 mph.
