Looking for a script to film

My friends and I usually make short (>5m) comedy videos. We want to take it to the next level, something serious, which is something we believe we can achieve. None of us are huge fans of screenwriting so we've decided to ask around and see if anyone has an old script they could let us shoot or is willing to write something for us.

I'm personally interested in drama (that includes romance and dramedy), maybe a thriller or action film, but it has to be believable for young(ish) actors, say 18-20 is the lowest. So I think a drama would be the best choice, especially considering we have enough shoot-'em-ups in pre-production. Something dark really appeals to me - and that doesn't have to mean suicide, murder, etc., but anything with a sometimes bleak look at life. Gritty, maybe.
 
I have a dramatic short story I wrote that I was interested in writing as a short film script. The characters in the story are currently middle school aged, but it could easily be adapted so that they're around high school age. The story's kind of comparable to "Mean Creek."
