looking for a new baseplate/rod system

I have an HVX/M2 system and I'm looking to upgrade from the stock Redrock baseplate. I like the look of the Zacuto baseplate and the Hyson baseplate. Does anyone have experience with ether one of these and there ease of use or functionality? If anyone has links to other quality baseplate systems that would be much appreciated.

New pics of the baseplate have been put up on the hysonfilms.com site, only a couple days ago, if that helps.

I already checked it out. I was wondering about the Hyson baseplate and if I would have to shim my M2 to make it work with my HVX. The rods don't seem to come close enough to the top of the baseplate like they do on the Zacuto baseplate.

The zacuto I just bought and i was looking for some time. I use dvx's and hvx's and even the occasional sony. and the zacuto was the only one that works with all the cameras, and it easily adjusts. My only problem is its a little heavy, but all the functionality makes up for the extra weight, and all the accessories they have make it well worth the money. good luck

Just got hands on Zacuto products at Cinegear Expo in LA. I bought the base plate and several add-ons. Their products are excellent! Solid, versatile , adjustable and well thought out. I have an HVX, Chroziel Mattebox, Cinetech Follow Focus, Marshall 7" Monitor, Brevis 35 and a set of Lomo Russian Primes 18mm to 300mm and needed a larger baseplate and longer rods than my Choziel set. They have rods in several lengths and their "lego-type" system allows you to mix and match add-ons to suite just about any configuration of set up that you want and do it quickly. Change your mind. Snap, unsnap and you're into another configuration. Well worth the money! I had to see the products and be hands on to really appreciate the quality and craftsmanship. It seemed to good to be true when I saw it online. Glad I went to the Expo.

Thanks everyone. I was already leaning towards getting the Zacuto, and you confirmed my thoughts, so I ordered it yesterday. Thanks again.
