Looking for a mid-range tripod with a hand crank

At the risk of chastisement, I was wondering if there were any mid range (~$500) tripods that employ the hand crank for lowering the raising the camera? They seem to only be on tripods in this price range: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/842090-REG/magnus_vt_300_video_tripod_w_2_way.html

I borrowed a Sacthler ACE M tripod for a week and ran it through my typical production and having to raise it and lower with the 3 legs and level it with the bowl was such a pain in the butt. Having looked at a few other tripods in that price range, they seem to all have a similar mechanism to the ACE M and I was curious if I missed one.

Have you looked for second hand Sachtler Hotpods? They can be found pretty cheap as they've never been that popular I don't think. The centre column is pneumatic and works nicely.

I have a friend who has a few and they are good for interviews, because you can quickly adjust for the subjects height. They were "popular" with news photogs back in the day, but I never understood why. They are God awful heavy and the height range is kind of poor.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I'll take a look at them. It seems that most people prefer not to have a hand crank. I wonder why.
