Looking for a hot shoe to 3/8 thread Adapter!

I have the Rode Shock mount, the SM3 http://www.soundstore.co.nz/p-296-rode-sm3-suspension-shockmount.aspx and also the SM4 http://www.soundstore.co.nz/p-295-rode-sm4-suspension-shockmount.aspx but recently the SM4 has begun to lose a lot of it's tension when on my boom, and there's no way to adjust it. I got in contact with soundstore for a refund but they claim it's normal wear and tear. So I was wondering if there was any way to use the hot shoe SM3 mount (which does have adjustable tension) on my 3/8 inch thread boom pole? I would need some sort of adapter, but I can't find them anywhere!

Any help is really appreciated. :)

It would probably have been cheaper to get a Rycote "Lyre" shockmount in the first place - the complete video kit is only around £100.

Do you want the shoe to have a 3/8x16 threaded hole so you can boom mount it, or are you looking purely for a shoe mount?

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, are you sure your SM3 hasn't simply already got a 1/4" to 3/8" adapter in the thread socket which you can remove with a screwdriver and then it reverts to 3/8"?

Other than that there are a ton of adapters from Manfrotto e.g.:

http://www.manfrotto.com/adapter-small-1-4-to-3-8

http://www.manfrotto.com/special-adapter-3-8-to-1-4-thread

http://www.manfrotto.com/adapter-small-3-8-to-1-4-set-5

and similar clones on Ebay.

You may be able to dissemble your SM4 and add a thin rubber washer to increase the tension.
