Save up another $300.00 and get a sachtler, believe me you'll be more than satisfied.

thanks, do you have a specific model in mind?
i like the showreel on myspace!

satchler are very good tripod's (look for dv6/8/or10)
i have a satchler vision 18 tripod at work (£4,000) and it is good,
i actually prefer my Vinten 100/fibretec (again about £4000)

i'm just about to order a Manfrotto: http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=mn_503-525
to use with the HVX-200 (it's only £300) It's got a great fluid head

Man. I paid over $700 for that kit a year and a half ago...

(Checking where I bought it...) And now it's over $800 there, but still...

I'm tempted to buy another one just because that's a great price.

Was shooting for a documentary project last week, with DVXs and a pair of that very setup...nice! Now my 3023 feels cheapish by comparison...

I just bought this and love it:

I have a long history with all the pro tripods for years, this is a great tripod for smaller cameras.

Vinten are greta tripod's, but my local hire company told me last week that all vinten PRO tripods, are actually made for vinten by manfrotto, and the manfrotto is about half the price
