Looking for a DVD authoring program...

My current DVD workflow is Avid Express Pro 4.6 > QT Reference>Canopus Procoder Mpeg2 compression>Nero Vision Express.

I'm not all that happy with NeroVision for a couple of reasons.

1) Their menu buttons look really cheesy.

2) They don't allow you to bring in the Canopus encoded Mpeg2 without compressing it again (I think?).

Is there a program that allows you to do the MPEG2 compression in a program like Canopus and then use that compressed file directly on the DVD.....but still allow you to create menus etc.

Also, I'm looking for something under $100.

Thanks

Adobe Encore 1.5 goes for around $100 on ebay now and then. If you can snag it at a good price it's worth it and will do what you are asking.

Your workflow is my workflow, minus the Nero part at the end.

I would check out DVD-Lab. There's three different versions, each with different features. The pro version is above your budget, but does almost everything one might want... Even the entry level version is about 3,000 times better than NeroVision.

Check out the various versions at: http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/

Demos are available.

Thanks for the info folks. I went with Encore and I'm using Cinema Craft to do the encoding. Looks wonderful.

HI, was the encore easy to use?

I need to burn a movie on an 8.5 dual layer dvd. Where did you get the Cinema Craft?

Thanks!
