Looking for a decent timelapse camera semi-permanent setup (2 Months). Suggestions?

Hello everyone!

I'm working on a WWII feature film next year and I would like to produce a timelapse of some of the set being built.

Can anyone here recommend a decent camera I can leave set-up in a shelter/hide to capture the set being constructed over two months?

An advice would be much appreciated!

Many thanks

Alex

any actioncam with solar/battery/main power would fit.
it all depends what is available. Most action cam have waterproof case, so it should not be a problem.
you have to calculate the framerate that fits your need vs card capacity.
Last time i have done that, 1 picture was 2mb, so a 64gb card can fit 30.000 picture.
2 months is 60dx24hx60m=86.400 minutes, a picture every 3 minutes would fit.
my guess is you better will change card and check camera every weeks.
and even use 2 cameras.

At 30fps your 30.000 pictures will make a 16 minutes movie

but on such length, this method is not really good.

acceleration factor is huge, so you better would take a shortclip of 10 sec every 3 days, then crossfade them, to get
the evolution without acceleration.
if you take care to shoot every clip at same hour , you will get no variation in luminosity.
You can even do better by starting the first clip ealry in the monrning, the each clip 15 min later.
At the end you got your 2 months reflected on one solar day.

That is also possible (and easier) with the timelapse picture if you got a timestamp on it.
