Looking for 3D objects

Does anyone know where I can find a large collection of 3D objects for purchase? I am thinking of something kind of like www.digitaljuice.com does for backdrops or stock footage, but rather this time I need 3D objects that I can import into After Effects and do some animations.

3D objects of all sorts, 3D cameras, 3D cars, etc. You get the idea. Any help on this matter would be GREATLY appreciated.. I have looked and looked with no luck! Thanks!

You can't impot 3D objects into After Effecs. You need a 3D program like 3D Studio Max, Lightwave, Maya, Softimage, Cinema 4D to render out your 3D objects and scenes. After Effects works with video and stills only.

well actually if they include, the 3d camera movement in the sale of the object it would work... but you wont be able to change it... dont know any where that does that... but there are plenty of places that sell/trade 3-d objects for 3-d programs..

Ahhhh... I see. So the 3D applications (ie. Maya) does all the 3D rendering and creates a video of the 3D animation that can THEN be imported into a timeline in Premiere Pro or After Effects for embedding into an exisiting sequence?

If you have the Zaxwerks plug-in you can bring 3d objects into After effects and use the AE camera. There aren't a lot of texturing options, but if it's basic stuff, you should be able to do it...

Would you mind if I show you guys what kind of animation I am interested in doing. I have AE7.0 Pro, but have never done any 3D ani's to speak of... so I am not even sure what programs/plugins can do or can't do what I am looking for.

So if you have a second.. would you mind checking out Digital Juice TV movie and about 1 min into the video (1/10th of the timeline)... you will see an animation appear that has a 3D models of barndoor lights, cameras and finally a director's chair, all moving about (Lights, Camera, Action.. it says).

How is this kind of thing done and what tools are used to create this? And finally... for a 3D noob like myself.. is it realistic to pickup on this stuff pretty quick? Thanks a ton.

Zaxwerks Invigorator Pro lets you import actual 3D objects. That's really cool. I dunno how the render would look, so I'm gonna try it out.

That part where the orb comes out of the girl's hand in the Digital Juice clip was done from an actual 3D program. Something like that is really simple to model and animate.

as far as I know you can not import 3d objects directly, maybe in the "pro" version you can? just Zaxwerks allows you to use illustrator files and extrude them making a 3d object, giving 2-d depth and lighting and shadow.... it is very cool. but mostly for logos and things like that...

Yes, you can import 3D objects in the Pro version of Zax...it handles OBJ, DXF, 3DS, LWO, FAC, and C4D models.
