Looking at an apple (mac) now

slight update, leanring a mac from pc is more challenging than I thought it would be.

Anyway, the update is I just found out that I get something like 18% off from my employee discount program at my job. DOH! Now I have to try to get some some $$ back somehow.

taubkin- this isn't a hobby for me, either. I mean, other than the film/video industry, I don't work.

Awn, man, I never meant to imply that! Sorry!

Maybe things are different in the US, where the clients are better informed, and professionals care abaut content more than gear, but here, being able to say "I cut in FCP" or "I have an FCP bay", got me some gigs. That's the lame truth.

Cheers!

And, yes, Coffe, congats!

Well, I got the discount and it wasn't 18% :( but I did save 8% which is still cash in my pocket!

Hey thanks man.... And I know what you mean. I have a recording studio for audio and I've secured deals by mentioning that I mix on my Mackie 32x8. Some managers paid me extra to adjust my schedule to get them in ASAP. Superficial? Yes. But some folks think the best when they hear that you have the best.
The fact is that I've mixed better on my piece of **** Fostex DMT-8 8 track recorder (R.I.P.) than I do on my Mackie.
God I miss that chuck of ****.
