look. a video

I really enjoyed this and it was relaxing with the Coldplay. You have some skills for capturing skateboarding; get your ass a DVX (24p) and start making DVD's. That was cool.

I saw it lastnight and actually was making a point to go back and watch again today, so how convenient that here it is. :)

I PM'd you some questions. Cant wait to see more of your work.

Looked nice, but there were a few of the classics that always annoy me about these types of videos.

Firstly everyone uses terribly wide angle lenses that give bad vignetting and secondly you always see the cameraman's shadow..argh!

Try playing a bit more with the old interlaced>slo-mo progressive trick, that would look sweet.

Also start playing around with colour correction and effects, it will bring a whole new level to your videos.

Thanks for posting it!

That's funny because I mentioned in my PM to a.king that I actually LIKED the shadow in this piece. haha!!! What do they say about not being able to please everybody? heh!

Shadows, not a problem considering the genre, and style of skateboard vids.

The vingetting on the other hand is a problem. Don't misunderstand, but it shows sloppy camera work, without excuse.

But you've got some potential.

rad, thanks for the comments.

just to remember i threw this together in about a half hour just using some throw away footage that is not being used.

the vignetting actually doesn't show up on a monitor. When i put stuff on dvd's you cant see it on the screen. why does footage get cropped when it goes to a monitor?

shadows in some cases are just impossible to avoid when it comes to filming raw skating. i mean these guys are just shredding and you have to do what you can. skaters dont want to hear "o can you take another path so there is no shadows" sometimes you dont even know what those guys are gonna do so you just have to go with the flow

mmm , when you say "interlaced>slo-mo progressive trick" are you talking about transitional slow mo?

o and heres the tattoo ...
