Wondering if anyone knows of a place to look for Indep artist on the web. Looking to shot a video for a Band or R&B person.

It would be free for the artist. Would like to listen to some of the person work 1st.

Please point me to a website.

I live in the LA area.

Re: Lood for Music band, R&B Groups,

Rob I want to compliment your work on the Big Logic video you posted in the Screen Grabs section of this site. That thing was off the hook! I am not sure if you will find any groups but you can try www.indieclub.com it is a site to network with people from Actors to Directors to editors, and so on. Some of the people on that site I think are kids so you have to just read through and see who sounds serious about their passion. The site is FREE to register. Thats the only place I can think of right now. I know there are other sites out there. One thing you might want to do is check the paper or local clubs in your area for open mic night. Sometimes you can find a decent group, singer, or hip hop artist with "skills" to do a video for. I did this when I worked in Virginia Beach and one of the videos that I shot won best Feature Photography when I submitted it to a contest. So being a talent scout is not a bad idea sometimes...

Re: Lood for Music band, R&B Groups,

Naaa, I am in Philadelphia area. How big was your crew for the Big L. video? I am planning a shoot soon of this new artist that was just signed to us. I want to have a wardrobe/hair/make-up people on the set along with other people. Was just curious what you used for the videos you've done so far.

Re: Lood for Music band, R&B Groups,

Yea I thought about that for certain things but I dont want to put a student in a key position. If the student has talent or may be a graduating Senior then that's different. But I have thought about using college students at least those that have a passion for filmmaking or working in video production.
