Long vs short

I was looking for a blimp for my AT 835b and found the Rycote. But as I was doing research, it seemed like a short shotgun might be better for my needs.
We do a lot of run n gun shooting, quick setups, interior and exterior. We've been using the 835b as a primary all around mic, but I've read that shorter shotguns fill that role better.
Boiled down: keep the 835b (and get a Rycote) or sell it and get something shorter (+ Rode blimp)?

I've used my AKG C93B (CK93 hypercardioid capsule & SE300B power module) for both interior & exterior shots... Make sure you can mic your exterior shots very close, and the environment is quiet & you'll do fine. I've used the Rode Dead Kitten on top of the supplied AKG foam windscreen and had good results. Rycote makes a 5cm Softie for the C93B, but I can't find it in the USA.

As for something shorter & the Rode Blimp- I'm not sure I would go that route... I picked up the Blimp for my NTG-3 and was amazed at how long it is- 19"! I'd be more inclined to pick up a short shotgun, like the NTG-1 & add a Rode WS-6 or Rycote Softie... Either of which are much more suited to quick setups than a boom, and work quite well in moderate wind outdoors.
