Hi there,
I'm trying to find a solution for this problem.
I need to shoot a scene where the actor is moving toward the camera.
The scene start wide, camera is slightly on the side. As the actor gets closer he'll notice something on the ground and he'll pick it up.
Camera follows his action for the entire scene.
So, for the first part it could be a simple pan, than I could simply use a tilt when he kneels to pick up the object from the ground.
With a 28 or 35mm lens on a crop sensor I should be able to cover the entire scene.
My tripod is not exactly a video tripod. Head is ok, with some practice it can be smooth enough.
But here's the difficult part. What I'd like to achieve is also a parallax, since in between the actor and the camera we've some bushes (or little tree and branches).
What I'd like to do is following his walking and then finish the shot with the kneeling action.
The problem is, in order to cover his walk I need a trail. I've got one but is too short. On top of that, even having a trail, how could I follow him with camera on the trail and then tilt down?
I guess this would be a perfect job for a 5-axis gimbal, but that's not an option.
Sure, I could always try just hand-held, but I need the shot to be as smooth as possible!
Therefore, any idea will be greatly appreciated!
TIA
