Long render times

I have recently purchased a HPX170 and have been shooting and editing test footage. When I shot and edited in 720 pn, the render times are resonable but when I shoot and edit in 1080, it takes days (last 1 hrs and 30 minute project). Is it just me or is this normal? I have a dual core AMD 3.2 with 3 gig of ram. Thanks

You need to post more information on your situation: what OS do you have, what is your input format and output format, what version of Vegas do you have, are you using any filters/effects on your input, what is your hard disk configuration, what else (if anything) is running on your PC when you render?

In general 2 threads (dual core CPU) & 3 GB RAM is not a lot. Vegas can use up to 8 threads and all the RAM it can get. I think most users have at least 6GB RAM.

Long render times

I windows xp pro 32 bit. the rest you have. You are probably correct, I need to upgrade but there is also this....I have a sony ex1 also and it dose not the same problem. Perhaps there is some other issue involved
