Long form experience?

Anybody out there edit anything 90 min. + on Vegas? How does it do? I just ordered Vegas and hope I made the right choice. Plan on doing feature lentgh projects.

Please put my fears at ease.... :o

I've done a couple of lengthy projects (2 hrs+). Not sure what your concern is? Why would 90+ min present a problem?

Maybe I just have bad reading comprehension but after reading some tutorials out there and glancing thru the manual, it seems that after one's done with the project, you'd have to render the entire timeline into a single file and play that to the deck? is it unlike other NLEs where you only render parts with effects?

Print to tape from timeline. It will pre-render only areas with effects but no need to create a new .avi (though you can also do that and then print to tape.)

usually when i do peoples re-edits from their old wedding videos about 4 hours off the one file (about 30 to 40 gb from memory) no probss

at the moment im doing a wedding using 10 hours (10x1hr tapes) no issues either
