Long encoding process

By using Quicktime Conversion out of FCP, I am trying to convert my footage over to a flash file. It said this process would take up to 10 hours to encode. The video is 8 minutes long with no graphics or effects. Its just cuts only. Is this normal? Im using Quicktime Pro's quicktime conversion.

No thats not normal. What computer do you have? Do you have flash CS3? Flash will convert .mov to .flv, but only flash CS3
