Lonely Turkey day due to DVX

:) Here's a funny thing. I'm an actor, and often get jobs by auditioning on tape myself. This is where my geekness pays off. I know how to light and mic the audition properly.

I have booked about 5 gigs by putting myself on tape for projects shooting in Canada. Great parts too. Lead roles in things that end up on Lifetime andstuff like that.

Alas, my DVX has paid off for me again and because of that I find myself in a hotel room right now in Montreal, away from home and my family eating a to go order of vindaloo chicken. Here working on a Lifetime movie called "Jean's Fate."

Missed Thanksgiving, but I am working and NOT complaining.
Just thought it was worth sharing as I follow the forum even when away from home.

Just glanced at your IMDB profile -- I've seen you in things. Cool!

You're married to Valerie Mehaffey? I remember her from "Fresno" a long time ago and have noticed her in quite a few things between then and now. Bears a striking resemblance to Lara Flynn Boyle . . .

Yeah, I've heard that about her before.

Back to the DVX thing, Valerie and I are writing a low budget feature right now with plans of shooting it on the DVX.

We will, however, pull MANY favors from pros we know who want to light it and act in it and stuff so it'll look as good as possible.

I just worked on a film with that DP who did "November" and won the cinematography award at Sundance. (shot on the DVX) You'd have died if you saw me! When I realized it was her, I made an ass of myself. I couldn't stop buggin' her about it. You'd think I just met Paul McCartney or something.

I'll keep you posted.

congrats on the work.. its always nice when you finally get that job that pays for the camera, its all gravy after that. (excuse the Thanksgiving Pun)
