Lomo square front lens compatibility

Wondering if this LOMO 35HAC10-3 F2.5 35mm ANAMORPHIC CINEMA adapter works with this Lens "OKC1-50-1" 2/50mm

Can you post a picture?

I have a 50mm square front Lomo anamorphic and the spherical lens inside says OKC1-50-1 F/2.0.

It screws into the back of the Lomo anamorphic adapter, and that makes the lens a F/2.4.

They were made to go together, and it sounds like you may have found the appropriate counterpart, but you'll really need to check before you buy. I can post pics of my lens and it's spherical element later. I bought them together.

I've helped out the OP in his other post & linked to some stuff that'll help - missed this one here, so posting in case he checks :)

Is your Lomo the HAC or BAS type (check the numbers on the Squarefront itself, you'll also be able to get he correct year of manufacture).

HAC types (normally OCT-18 rears) were designed to fit to specific cameras that had a low mounting rail - the lens and adapter all went on this, meaning the lens moved to gain focus. These are the cheaper types of Lomo Squarefront and were sold originally as a 35mm and a 50/75mm combo (both lenses fit into the Squarefront 50/75mm adapter).

BAS types are an all in ones lens with a much better focus system (it's still two lenses inside, but it moves as a single mechanism). These come in 35mm, 50mm and 80mm (with the very rare 30mm and 22mm's). Because these lenses are OCT-19, they convert to PL more easily (as the focus mechanism is internal).

So, the photo's you posted recently are with a Squarefront? :)

BTW - how did your Epic shoot go... did you have any issues with the gate flare?

Yes. Those pictures in the 'anamorphic lens' thread was from my lomo anamorphic squarefront.

The Epic shoot went well. I did see the gate flare, once, when shooting into a fairly low sunset. We were able to avoid it with an eyebrow and long lenses. It was there, but avoidable. Funny how that exists and how Red doesn't have a solution yet, other than to recommend doing the custom foam insert that other users have come up with.
