Ok so, being totally new to being an indie film maker I need your help. I need a logo or what ever it's called, the thingy that appears in the beginning of everyone's films..... WTF, just when I think I'm getting the swing of things I realize there's something else that I'm missing.

So, how do you guys create them? What program do you use for this? I have a mac.....

I create my stuff in adobe photoshop. What is the name of your company or what is the name that you are using?

as a new indie filmmaker, you will discover you wish you had all kinds of skills..web design, graphic design, marketing, audio, visual fx, sound design, etc.

to make a logo usually requires a drawing program. adobe illustrator, macromedia freehand are just a few. photoshop will work pretty well, too. both can be found on the mac platform. I think there even some more basic programs, called "logomaker" or soemthing like that. I think what you are alooking for is a bit of motion or animation, too. hmm. well, you bring you logo into fcp or livetype or motio and add the jazz. mine was made all in livetype?!

my best advice? draw it out by hand and then see if someone else will do it for you. in the long run, you can do a lot if you even have some pretty basic skills in the apps I mentioned above. it takes time to learn, and of course the big fat application.

The name of my company is Itchy House...... I know, strange name but it has a meaning to it. I'm totally open to any help you guys are willing to throw my way!

Ok, my idea is something along the concept of this:

The font "feel" is almost like what what our brother Griffinstudios used in his teaser:

I like how the inside of the font has random moving light.

The feel is almost Halloween like with a creepy type of text exactly like what they used for "A Nightmare Before Christmas" shown here:

And the back graound has a creepy house on top of a hill like what they have here with the moon behind it:

Hey Brian, that's pretty cool man! I love the concept as it's fitting to what I'm looking for....

If I were to send you the image to throw on there instead of that house would you try that out?

Damn, I'm tempted but I can't make any guarentte. Who knows, I might have something for you soon. You don't need to hire anyone. I'm sure there's many talented folks on this site that would be happy to hook you up with a coolk logo!

Well, BLUESPIDER I'm a patient man so I'll keep trying to get help until it arrives.... lol I'm doing all the research that I can to try to figure this out as well and Hectorxd is helping too which is great!

Hey Hectorxd, I'll send you that pic asap!

I have a symbol as my logo, and usually for each project I do, I have a variation of it in some way. One, the symbol fills up with liquid (hypervoxels) and the shape is formed as the liquid is fillling, one, the symbol is directly in front of the camera, but as it begins to turn sideways, it reveals that is it actually a 3D city, the buildings only showing as it rotates further, one, a 3D "snowy explorer" is climbing a steep slope with his ice hammers, and when he reaches the top and plants the flag, the camera pulls back to reveal he was actually climbing the symbol. It's fun to mix things up.

I can help with logo design, as well as doing 3D, compositing, and sound design for a little intro for ya.

yikes! I have been in desperate need of one, is there anyone that would like to take a crack at doing a decent one for me? I have a static image, in any file format you choose.

what kind are you looking for? What is the name of the company? Any specific picture or logo that you want to incorporate in it? What kind of feel are you going for?
Brian

wow with all this outpouring of free help it makes me wish i didn't do this as a profession and only a hobby!
