Logic Studio 8 is great.

If you are a garageband user Logic Studio will be a 1 week transition. The interface is like garageband pro. If you are logic pro 7 user the interface has just got a lot more intuitive everything just seems to work logically. I owned logic pro 7 but rarely used it as it was over my head, but after about 4 hours with Logic 8 I feel I have the basics mastered. This was the best money I have spent in a long time! The sample projects it comes with are really professional sounding. you can go threw each project and see what filters they used and check the before and after to see which effects make the biggest difference. Man it is a sweet program. If audio is a major concern for you and you are on a mac get Logic Studio.

Good to know. I bought a 5.1 setup to mix my short thinking Soundtrack Pro 2 would have all the kinks worked out,... I was wrong. Holy cow this application is horrible!

Logic Studio does 5.1 right? I'm used to Nuendo, but I haven't used it in years. I'd buy it but I don't have a cool $2,000 to spare. I've been eye'ing Logic, so thanks!

Dewy-dB,

Logic Pro 8 does surround 5.1, as well as some additional surround formats, including 7.1. I believe the new version also has some new surround filters as well, but I am not sure since I have installed the Logic Studio upgrade, but haven't had any time to play with it yet. The new pricing of Logic Studio looks like a bargain.

This is the best audio program I have came across as a video editor. The learning curve is gone in this version. The audio quality is amazing. So many sounds. 1 problem I was getting missing sound errors so I checked online at apple and alot of other folks had the same problem. Luckily the answer seems to just be a reinstall. That is the only negative so far. This program is being used everyday about 5 hours or so since I bought it. It also automatically finds my midi controller that use to require extra steps in logic 7.
