Log & Transfer reacting oddly - automatically loads volume when opened

Only recently, whenever I open Log & Transfer in FCP7, it automatically loads in some raw footage on one of the 3 drives on the MacPro I'm working on. If I eject the volume, the drive itself disappears from the computer and only if I restart, does it re-appear.

It's extremely odd. Any ideas what can be done to stop it from happening?

UPDATE: In the drive, there was a folder named "AVCHD". I moved it into another folder, and re-opened Log & Transfer, and the footage didn't appear. Looks like FCP was seeing the hard drive like I inserted an SD card.

That's correct- you don't want to put cards at the root level of an external hard drive or it can end up being seen as a media volume instead.
