Log & Capture | Delay | Slow

Hello Everyone

For some reason my log & capture is taking longer than it should to load. Once its loaded, it even takes awhile to click different settings. I'm using the most up to date software on my G5 1.8 Dual w/ 3.5 GB of ram. I also have a macbook with 2GB's of ram running the same FCP yet it has no problems and loads my log & capture quickly. I have disabled all my other firewire devices. I also had this problem reguardless if my camera is connected to the computer or not. Please let me know how to fix this probelm. Thanks for your time.

Get FCP Rescue 5, use it to trash your prefs. Don't back up your prefs until the system is running properly.
 
I'd also try running MacJanior followed by Disk Utility.

What is your hard drive set up? Where are your media files kept?

You are running FCP 5.1.2 and OSX 10.6.8?
 
Everything is up to date. I have also used a different user name but it still comes up very slowy unlike other machines I've used.

your running 10.6 already? crazy you must be buddy buddy with Mr. Jobs... I bet you call him iJobs for short :happy:
