log and capture problems

This is the second time I've had problems logging clips then batch capturing my footage. I cam capturing to fcp via firewire from a sony z1u. At first I thought it was a time code breaking issue but this time I striped the tape first and don't have breaks within my footage.

I log all of my clips, exit log and capture, select all clips in the project window, right click and select batch capture. It begins seeking to the first clip but always skimms passed it about 2 seconds, back tracks, looks some more, then errors out. It's always hovering around 2 seconds after the specified in point.

What am I doing wrong?

sounds like you don't have enough pre-roll. What I would do or what I did when I worked with that horrible HDV format is hard record to capture the clips you need. While in Log and Capture click the capture settings tab and select non-controllable device, hit play on the camera and capture now on FCP and that shouldn't solve all your problems but should help a little.
