Log and Capture PReview Disabled

Greetings all. I am running FCP 7 / Snow leopard. When i connect my camera and open Log and capture, the program recognizes the camera and the device control works, however the video is not displayed on the log and capture window. The audio meter responds to the audio on the tape but the video window just shows bars and reads "Preview Disabled." When I take the same camera and attach it to my laptop (running FCP 6 , OS 10.5.8) all is well as the video shows up in the log and capture window.

Any idea why i am having trouble capturing on FCP 7? Or how i may fix it?
 
OK Just solved the problem, i had another controllable device hooked up to the computer via firewire. I unhooked that and the problem is solved. Sorry for the wasted thread!
