Locking tracks

I am cutting about a 10 minute short and I want to add a little clip in the middle of the project.
Does anyone know how to do that without moving each individual cut over. I just want to drag the whole sequence together, add the clip and move the the sequence back together. Right now, I have to move each cut over and it's very time consuming. Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like you're looking for "auto-ripple".. it's in the toolbar, or CTRL+L to enable/disable.

Apologies if I've misunderstood.

You can group together the ones to the right of the insertion point, then they will move as a group.

move the first of them just enough to drop in the new footage, then do a ripple edit (a menu choice) to move the rest of them.
