Do it at a school. Post an ad at a flim school, or a college, and most likely you will find someone to do some free work for you. If they go to that school, you can use the premises for filming purposes. From there, I'm sure you'll be able to find a nice student lounge/study area to film. So long as you (Or someone thats working w/ you) is a student there (W/ id) just say that youre a film student and its all good. It works for me all the time.

On "The First Year" we got excellent rates at that building in downtown...well, it's a glass-and-steel box skyscraper sitting on an angle on a masonry base, to your left as you drive north on the 110 through downtown...

It was mostly empty, so the managers gave us a very good deal.

I'm sorry I can't remember the address or building name, but it's the only thing that fits the description I gave, if you have time to swing by and walk in...

Thanks Sad Max. I'll keep an eye out for it. Hey, did you ever think anymore about working on my project?

Re: locations needed in L.A. Calif.

I have been pretty thoroughly consumed with commercial work for the last several weeks.

Coming up for some air now, and expecting to have about a week off before I'm back to it.

But I'd still like to learn more about your project.

That building, by the way, is at 1100 Wilshire Boulevard.

They have a web site; 1100WilshireLA.com

Good luck.

Wow that looks great! What was the day rate if you remember? Is "The First Year" a movie? Thanks for the link.

Re: locations needed in L.A. Calif.

It was a young-lawyers-in-the-city series for USA Television.

I think they aired three episodes.

I don't know their figures for a day's access; that was handled by the location mgr. who pronounced the rates to be so very good. There ought to be some management company rep you can contact through their site who can work all that out for you.

Re: locations needed in L.A. Calif.

I just looked at their site.

It looks like they are now a residential building.

They may not offer the same sort of space that they used to.

Sorry about that.
