Livetype to FCP

If your in LT and you click the LiveType logo in the time with the mouse and keep it pressed then hit the APPLE key and tap the TAB key and tab over to Final Cut Pro while holding the other buttons, it is supposed to send your Livetype work right into FCP and you can render it there instead. I tried this numerous times but for some reason its not bringing it over to FCP am I leaving something out with that process?

There's a few ways to do this. First off, you have to save your project before you can drag it over.

You can drag it over to the FCP timeline by clicking on the LiveType file logo next to the saved file name and doing it the way you describe. I do it by using Exposé and drag the LT file to the top corner then drop it in the FCP timeline.

Finally, you can simply save the file and then import it into FCP.

After you have an LT file in the FCP timeline and want to adjust it, simply right click on it and select "open in editor". Then save the LT file after you make your changes. The LT file in FCP will change automatically.

Expose was a feature first introduced in the Jaguar version of OS X (10.2) I think. If you go to system preferences on your dock, there is a preference you can set for Dashboard and Expose telling it which corner you want them to activate in.

I'm telling this to you assuming you have the latest OS X (10.4). What OS version do you have?

Anyway, Expose lets you see all of the windows you are working in, this is an awesome feature of the OS that I use at least 5 times per hour.
