Livetype Issue

Okay, if anyone has any advice for the following Livetype scenario, you have my gratitude...

I am beginning with a word, say "MOVIE" and I want the O, V, and I to disappear, one after the other, leaving me with "ME" and then, have the letters "AYB" appear (one after the other) in the middle, giving the word "MAYBE"

The only way I have been able to do this so far, is to have a whole bunch of different tracks, one with MOVIE, that ends, then one with MOVE, MOE, ME, MAE, MAYE, MAYBE. Each track beginning when the other ends...

Is there a way to have this occur in one track?

The reason I ask is that I want to have effects occur continually throughout stages of the spelling change (keyframe size changes and glow effects) and that is difficult when each clip only lasts 1/10 of the duration and a new clip keeps beginning with the new spelling...

I don't think what I'm trying to do is impossible...

You need to adjust the Sequence timing in your Inspector.

You might also try doing this in Motion. I have done something similar and it was not very difficult (and I'm a sound guy so...). You could then bring the Motion project into FCP as a clip - one track.
