Live web broadcasting with DVX

Ok, I'm wondering if this is possible if all the things are right. I have an internship and they do boatshows, and concerts and I and a few other people record the boatshows, and concerts and the occasional sail boat trip. But here is what they have me doing in may. They are having a concert video made for there band that is on all the videos and tv show. They want me to record the band live and web cam. But I would like to use a DVX instead of a chinzy web cam cam. What would I need to do this? A power power book? Fire wire, the web broadcast program, and the xlr cable to go into the mixing board would it work? Please if you have some info

oooo man, there is a few things to make sure first.
Do you wanna go live, how many cameras, platform, server, bandwith enough to support your stream.
So let say you shoot in hd,which is more than obvious, than down to h264, as far as I know that is the best way to do it, you still got a lot of traffic to stream.
Technically I`m not sure how this work in US, probably there is enough speed , but don`t expect to stream full quality video just like that.

You can do this Really easily on a Windows platform!
After you figure out your out your actual camera situation, and you have your final output line, You can use a Cheap Capture card with Svideo or Composite in, and use Windows Media Encoder. (a Free program) to Stream it over the web.
If this sounds like what you want to do, let me know. I have plenty of experience setting this up, http://www.egln.net does it daily.
