Live Mixing Board System - Panasonic AVHS300G

Hello,

I'm putting together a live HD video recording and mixing system for internet streaming, and I have a few questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm completely new to this.

I'm planning on purchasing the Panasonic AVHS300G live video switcher. For now only two cameras will be plugged into it (two Canon XH-G1 cameras) via HD-SDI, they will be sending in an HD signal to the panasonic mixer. The Canon XH-G1 cameras will have the same XLR audio feed coming in from our mixer board (Tascam DM-4800).

One HD-SDI output from the Panasonic mixer will go to a Blackmagic SDI Decklink card - here the uncompressed HD video will be compressed with either the cineform codec, or the black magic DVCPROHD codec.

My questions are:

1) How will audio reach this Blackmagic SDI Decklink card? I know the HD-SDI connection supports audio, but when I switch cameras with the Panasonic AVHS300G from one HD-SDI connection to another, will the audio also switch seamlessly? If there is a better way to do this, then please feel free to offer suggestions. I don't exactly know the best way to get audio into my recording - my blackmagic SDI decklink card only has one HD-SDI input, so I'm assuming that's how it would go.

2) The two canon cameras and the Panasonic switcher would by gen-locked with a signal coming out of the main Canon XH-G1 camera. I would also like to sync my Tascam DM-4800 board to this system, so I no longer have to deal with audio that is out of sync with video, which is quite annoying. The DM-4800 has a word clock input and output via BNC cable. What is the cheapest way to convert the GEN-LOCK blackburst signal to a Work Sync signal, so that I can synchronize the video system with the audio system.

Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
