after noon fellas...
wondering on ure ideas for any and all equipment i would need to run a live broadcast for a mock news campus for my job (FEMA) when they run the exericises they have 1-3 on air people and 2 old ass video decks...their set now is utterly horrible they use a little IR remote and powerpoint with a black background to key in over lays and bugs...its crap...

so this is what im looking for

(all should include follow audio)
-3 camera setup
-2 playback decks
-1 record deck
-some sort of rf convertor to send the signal to each class room over coax...
-A program of sorts that allows u to add titles and bugs easily from a computer or a switcher

im saying under 50,000 for the budget but it may change...

i had to cover in the so called studio this week and it looks like trash...so its time for an upgrade....im tired of it lookin like it was shot in the early 80s...haha
thanks

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

Look into video toaster's stuff. I haven't used any of it personally (at least not since 94 when it was still on amiga's), but they're designed to do what you're looking for.

I can't speak to the quality, but the prices I've seen would leave enough room under your budget for cameras and playback decks.

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

yeah i was lookin at their trinity system...toaster 3 ...thanks

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

i think that would be a waste of a dvx....all i need in a stuido cam is the optics ...all that is in there now is an old school pro hi-8 and a vx2000.....im lookin at some 1/3 ccd cameras with out decks now..

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

For a multi camera production and or studio.

I have tested a new device that enables sending video from
the FW port by a normal common computer network cables.

Have tested it with a 400 Meters cable. No quality lose was tetected by a sight test.

It is made of two identical cigarette pack size boxes with 12v
power input. One box for each end, Tests where made by
sending pictue from a DV camera to monitor and Dv recorder,
Remote controling and using an external FW HD connected to an NLE computer.

Now have to think of applications, The technology works.
It is an un limited distance FW connection with a low cost cabling.

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

well if the sending box and recieving box could be made into wireless networking , youd be talking my language ;)

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

No, Not yet.

Transmition has its own, So far un solved problems, Reflaction
is the biggest obstacle.

It is easier to send video from the Moon to Earth then get a stable reliable signal from a moving camera in a wedding hall...

Re: Live Broadcasting Studio

Think of setting up a Multi camera set with Fw control console, and two way comunication all in Digital quality,
and a very low cost.
