I have a shoot this weekend (short film) and I'm concerned about live audio capture because I want to avoid dubbing at all costs. I'll have an XHA1 with two XLR ports, and I was able to rent two boom mics (AT835b), two lavs (Samson Airline something, XLR, wireless), and a behind the scenes camera in an XL1s.
I'll be shooting both indoors and outdoors and I'm trying to figure out whats the best method for capturing audio without a mixer. I don't have a sound recordist, and the boom operator is a friend. Can anybody give suggestions?
