Hi,

I recently bought *Luxmen mini-pro 100w halogen light. before i used only halogen, (1)fresnel, and led lights. Problem is that this lamp have XLR (male) cable, so do I have to buy expensive batteries, power packs (question mark) is there any way to simple connect that small 12v lamp to power outlet? http://cdn.gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/five-sided-wall-plug-outlet-concept.jpg
I think i can use it to illuminate a background or whatever, not just only to reportage
lamp itself ->

sorry for *lame* question guys:grin:!

STOP ! No, you cannot directly connect that to ANY wall outlet. Doing so is Dangerous as it will fry the lightbulb instantly and would be hadardous. The light uses a 12 volt bulb and must be used with a 12 volt supply (DC). You can, however get a DC power supply that has a minimum rating of at least 10 amperes as that tiny bulb will surely draw 10 amperes from a 120V AC outlet or 5 amperes from a 220V AC outlet. Those power supplies are not cheap.

you can power it off of a battery as long as you have a 4-pin XLR out (or a dtap to XLR cable, etc)

To power it off of an AC outlet, you just need to have a 12v power supply that can provide 100w of power (~8.5 amps of power).
