Litepanels DV camera Kit

The Litepanels DV Camera Kit I ordered arrived today. (This is the one with the Panasonic Adapter which is supposed to run using your camera batteries) Only problem is that my DVX100a camera batteries won't fit into the adapter.

The adapter says "compatible with Panasonic VW-VBD1" and my batteries are CGP D-28.

Has anyone encountered this problem? I'm bummed out if I'm going to have to invest in batteries that might only work in the litepanel and not my camera. My whole purpose for buying the Litepanel with the panasonic adapter was to be able to use my batteries in both the camera AND the light......
 
Are the batteries Panasonic brand or after market Panasonic compatible? I ask because I returned an entire LitePanels set up yesterday. I was told the aftermarket batteries they sold me (they being Samy's Cameras in Los Angeles) would work and did not. When I returned 30 minutes later, the original sales person had left. The one still there informed me aftermarket batteries will not work (nice to get the facts after the purchase) with the Panasonic adapter plate. Samy's was not about to open up the real thing to see if they would work so they took back everything. I would suggest you do as I did and call LitePanels directly at (818) 752-7009 or email them at www.litepanels.com. In either case ask for Pat Grosswendt, co-founder of the company. Pat spent over an hour with me in his conference room in Burbank, CA personally answering all my questions. He's great and will knock himself out to help you. Pat does return phone calls and responds to emails. LitePanels, if I do say so myself is top of the line. They value their customers. I hope this helps.
