Anyone with thoughts or experience with the Litepanels Brick Bi-Colors?

Checked around but didn't see much discussion about these lights.

I'm a hobbyist with a Litepanels Astra EP Bi-Color and am wondering if two of the Litepanels Brick Bi-Colors would make for a solid 3 point interview lighting kit, or are there newer, more affordable options that might pair well with an Astra EP?

Any thoughts, advice, suggestions appreciated.

I own the Litepanels Brick Bi-Color. As a on-camera light, it is large in size. Particularly with the diffuser accessory attached. But the output is greater than most any other on-camera light. And it is spotty. It has a narrow beam, even with the diffuser attached. It is waterproof, which is ideal for ENG because in ENG there are times when you have to shoot in the rain and camera rain covers only cover the camera, lens, and shotgun mic.

It can serve as a backlight, but it is less than ideal because, while it is large for an on-camera light it is small for my liking for use as a back-light / hair-light. ( I use a Kino 2ft 2 bank as a back-light / hair-light. ) I'm almost always trying to use as large a source as possible- be it key light or back-light / hair-light / edge-light.

The power cord is permanently attached to the head. I'd prefer it if it was not. If the power cable goes bad you are fricked. You can't swap it out for a spare power cable. And the fact that it does not disconnect is a bit of a pain when storing the light. It would be preferred if you could store the head unit and the power cord separately.

Overall, it is a high quality product. I rank it as one of the best on-camera lights on the market. The thing is built like a tank. ( and it is relatively heavy as a result ). As far as using it off the camera, as a stand-alone lighting unit on a light stand of mounting clamp, it is good for that use as well. Albeit a smallish source.
