List of reputable audio dealers

Anyone have a list or can recommend several reputable dealers for audio equipment on line (mics primarily)? I did search but nothing conclusive came up.

Also, anyone know of any reputable dealers in the Allentown/Philadelphia, PA area where I can try some equipment out?

Thanks

I've made almost all of my audio equipment purchases from Trew Audio.
Very knowledgable and friendly sales staff. They don't carry a full selection of mics, but you can't go wrong with them for all of your mixer, suspension, wind protection needs.

If you're looking for the popular Oktava mc012, deal with the Soundroom. You'll get the real deal and they provide a DVXuser discount.

This forum is littered with useful information. Start with the stickies at the top and you'll get great suggestions for recommended equipment and where to get it.

Good luck.

I second trewaudio.com They can answer questions that would have B&H staff asking "that's a microphone right?"
From the few times I've talked to B&H, it doesn't take much to stump them.

what ever you find on "reputed sound for film dealers " you may find much cheaper at reputed dealers for musitians
buy the way , i vote for Gothamsound or Marty from http://www.atscomms.com/

- much nicer and much flexible

by the way the questions you can ask here , get answers and francly you will get better ones :-)

As I have said in the past -

Use B&H's web site for research and pictures, then order from someone else.

I generally order from Trew, primarily because I don't have to pay sales tax and shipping (just shipping) when I order from them. Otherwise, I order from Coffey.

I order exclusively from Coffey when a last minute thing comes up. I had a gig a couple of weeks ago (sit down interviews) and they wanted me to be able to hang the boom and mix from outside the room (nervous interviewees) so I needed a boom mate (or whatever that stupid thing is that let's you hang your boom from a C-stand). I called Coffey at 3pm and had them ship it to me Fedex first (gets here by 8am) - and they got it to me without a problem. Benefit of being in the same timezone.

Phil
