that's basically the same setup i'm using at work except for the kona card and 6.5 gigs of ram. But how do you like the fibrechannel.

We're operating 4 g5's through our xraid system through "fibre jet" and its a pain in the ass if you want to hook up firewire while "fibre jet" software is on. Our tech guy said its not a good thing to do while fibrejet software is running as it might be a conflict between sources and fry our drives. other then that i love it, just wish i could use firewire as the same time using fibre jet.

I used to play Barry Green's masterpiece, "Command & Conquer," on a P1 75 MHz, 32MB RAM Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. I am the mechanical man!

OK, it's not really BG's masterpiece per se . . .

Mac Dual 2.0 G5
1.5 GB RAM
160 GB HD
Dual Monitor
FCP, DVD Studio, Motion, AE 6.5, Shake 3.5, Maya 6, Macromedia Studio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Magic Bullet, Trapcode plugs, and some others I can't think of right now.

Mac G4 "TiBook" 667mhz 15in

Fibrechannel runs like a dream. Its running through XSan. If at all possible you should get apple fibre cards installed and some seats of xsan. You probably already have a fibre switch, etc right? You'll also need another ethernet card in each box because it has to have a dedicated card for the metadata.
