Linked Clips Acting Strange

Ok I've linked some clips. They're underlined to show that they are in fact linked. BUT when I select video it doesn't also select audio. Why not? I'm trying to do a drag trim here and it will only let me drag one at a time. Am I missing something here? I tried rebooting. No help.

There is a button next to the snap button in the timeline window. It's called "linked selection" or press shift>L. It toggles the option of just selecting video or audio or both.
