link to 24pa footage recorded to quickstreamdv

i'm hoping a fcp4/dvx techie can help me out.  i have footage at the link below shot in 24pa and recorded directly to the quickstreamdv.  please import it into a 23.98 timeline and let me know if pulldown has been removed by fcp or if i would need cinema tools to remove advanced pulldown.  thanks!

In FCP4 there is a function to remove the advanced pulldown other than the capture window. Go into "Tools" at the top and the adv pulldown removal will be at the bottom of the list. Of course I haven't tried this yet because I don't have a Quickstream...yet. Also you should be able to tell if it still has the pulldown in the footage just by going through it frame by frame. If you have any repeat frames then yes its still in there.

whether i import footage from the quickstream or capture from dv tape w/ advanced pulldown removal, i still see these repeated frames.

Did you try the pulldown removal in the "Tools" section of FCP4. If your still seeing the repeated frames even on tape capture, then your presets may not be setup right. You might want to go into the A/V settings and check out the capture presets you have. Just to check. The one your using should have the advanced pulldown removal checked in the edit window for that preset.

ok, when i import 24pa footage captured from dv tape in a 23.98 sequence and capture set to remove 2:3:3:2 pulldown, and put it on the timeline, the footage needs to be rendered. is this rendering normal or is my setup off? once rendered, these interlaced lines every 5th frame disappears. not the case w/ quickstream footage. i needed to use the tools>remove advanced pulldown in order to get rid of the interlaced lines.

Using the adv pulldown removal tool might work with all footage on FCP that still has the adv pulldown in it. I might be getting a Quickstream today and if I do I'll give it a check also.

I guess I won't be getting it today because they don't have any at their place down in Irvine right now.
