Line level solution for lav + minidisc?

Hello,

Snagged a MiniDisc recorder off eBay, but didn't quite realize the nuances of the 'line in' input. Now that I try to plug in my wired lav mic, the audio is very low, for reasons most of you probably understand (and that I'm just understanding).

So, if I can't find a solution for getting the mic up to line-level going in, I'll have to sell the minidisc recorder and find another solution. (This was supposed to be for wedding videos, to mic the groom; big preamp won't work.)

Ideas? Other lessons? (Hey, might as well learn as many as I can for each mistake!)

To get audio you need a mic, power for mic, pre-amp for the signal, something to monitor levels, and something to record it. Make sure you have the whole chain covered and that they will all work with each other and you will be golden.

Cheers
