Line Level In Eduis

OK does anyone know how to capture and control line level from a box that is feeding line level out ?? I ran into this problem at a presser and couldn't figure my settings out and almost ruined the whole shoot. Im using a canopus box to and bringing in realtime the audio and video though firewire. If so please post step by step how.

Usually the best way to handle this is to put a mixer in-line between the source and receiving device.
