Lilliput 665GL-70NP/HO/Y - Nice Feature Set

Has anyone purchased the Lilliput 665GL? I'm considering it. It seems to have many of the features of a small professional monitor. I've collected these features from various sites. No one site spells it all out. No manual is downloadable to get the true feature set. Of course, I don't trust feature sets listed on ebay, so I'm not so sure about this list.

I used these links to make up the list:

An old thread I know... But just for clarifications sake. This monitor has no features. I don't know where the OP saw this but I have an liliput 665GL and it has no features at all except for the upmost basic ones (brightness, saturation...and brightness works out like gamma not brightness!).

I got my monitor for app 260€ shipped. For the money I can't complain.

The resolution is nice. I use it with my HPX171 and I can focus by eye.
The other thing I was I bit surprised are the viewing angles. This was my biggest concern when ordering the monitor as I didn't find any reviews regarding them. And non of the DSLR crowd seems to be concerned with them...
lef, right and up is okey. Almost like if it had an IPS matrix. But when viewing it from below it gets bad. There it behaves as a regular TN matrix. When viewing from below the gamma shifts a lot. When viewing from about a 5% angle it's acceptable but more then this it gets bad. You wont be able to judge lighting when viewing from below. But all the other three angles are as I said surprisingly good. I can post some pictures if anybody is interested...

The other thing besides the lower viewing angles that I found not good is that there is no hole on the upper side of the case to mount an articulating arm or something... The threaded holes are located on the left, right and at the bottom, but there is no hole on the upper side of the chassis. This makes it a bit awkward for some applications.

I ended up getting one. It is not perfect, for sure, but I like it. I got mine for $214.00 off of eBay, and you really can't beat it FOR THE PRICE.

I don't know where the OP saw this ....

I provided 3 links in my post.

I didn't find that clarifying at all. I have updated the feature list to show what is and isn't real from the advertised lists.

XLR power - yes
1/4-20 screw on 3 sides - yes
Image flip - no, or I have not found how to flip it.
Blue gun only - yes

I didn't find that clarifying at all.

I'm sorry. How may I be of service to better clarify the matter then?

- It doesn't have a blue gun function.
- It has only one safety marker.
- The brightness control is a joke. It's probably gamma control.
- It has individual RGB gain control so one can adjust the monitor by eye. It also has a "tint" control and a BW control.
- It has a lover dynamic range then my inbuilt HPX171 monitor. I tried everything but the highs get clipped at app. 92 IRE. I don't know if this is due to the component out or is it the monitor. Haven't tried it yet with an HDMI signal.
- It definitely doesn't have peaking. Or any other filter or scope for that matter.
- It's not very bright. I would say app. 180-ish cd/m2.

The best things about this monitor are: it's resolution, it's price and package content (the battery and charger...), it's left, right and up viewing angles.

Yes, better thanks.

- It has 3 safety markers. Toggle the button repeatedly and notice that the marker coverage changes. But not of any value to me.
- The RGB control can be used to turn down red and green and put up bars to with blue-only to calibrate hue and saturation. It's not a blue-only button, but it works.
- I find the HDMI-out to be useful
- yes, something is wrong with the brightness control

old thread but when one comes around they want to cum around and go around, i am just about to buy a 665Gl, there is a bloke on YT showing 5 plus videos and describes the monitor in detail, in fact i just wrote to him, his only gizzle with it is that you should avoid china stores via amazon (maybe ebay too) because you have to cover the shipping back if the item is defected etc, he then recommends one from local resellers (for him in the uk) because the warranty is real etc, same or less price too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_bQy_5d-04

I have not watched all the videos but ill try searching to how you test the zebras and peek, the chinese venders i wrote to on ebay where untrustworthy or simply tricky, their adverts will show one monitor configuration of the 665Gl (they come in dozens) while the description shows another, example, 5" monitor description for a 7" monitor, or title says hdmi i/o, description says hdmi out but photos show 1 hdmi while the same vender has posted other 665Gls with the option to upgrade the extra hdmi out., to add to the ebay chinese hesteria the prices are no where nearly as good as amazon, try going through amazon first., although i did find one of these monitors a(and they come with hdmi only i/o now) for 223 bucks but notice they dont even have the model numbers in this store on ebay http://stores.ebay.fr/SAVEBASE/_i.html?_nkw=lilliput&submit=Rechercher&_sid=67967883 , maybe its because they are refurbished or knock offs? anyone know better ?:Drogar-SunGlass(DBG

I recommend spending a little more and getting their top of the line version...

Its not really that much more... maybe $50?

Lilliput 5D-II/O/P PEAKING Zebra Exposure Filter HDMI IN OUT 7" TFT LCD Monitor with FREE Cable

So its a bit more at list price of $359 but amazon has it on sale for $239. Still a steal.
