LWKS have released Lightworks V2025.1 (This was renamed from V2024.1 because of the late release) and is now available to download.

There as been a lot of under the hood changes to improve performance, expand the export options, adding further masking features and allowing the creation of your own custom effects, plus improvements to the user interface.

The existing NewBlue effects bundle will continue to work with V2025.1

They have reworked the media processing engine to allow a better, more flexible system going forward. New features include the option of automatic project re-entry on restart, preview files on the import panel, keyword tags to clips and sequences during logging, H264 encoding can now be hardware accelerated, image-Key & Titles now have Z-rotation built in, etc.

Note that Lightworks currently has Tabs, but the new feature is a lot more streamlined.
