Whoa, I'm surprised Lightworks is still around, I thought they ceased ops years ago? They had a few die hard even high end feature editors like Thelma Schoonmaker who
love using Lightworks but in the rank and file, I don't think I've ever met a Lightworks user. Which means they aren't real popular with the meat and potatoes crowd
because I have met hundreds, maybe even thousands of of editors over the years interviewing for stories for various outlets. Cool they have survived, more choice in the
market is always a healthy thing.

Resolve at $300 is slowly filling the meat and potatoes market, but Lightworks can't survive on a buy it once and get all new versions model. Even when they were owned by EditShare they couldn't survive on that. It has changed hands a lot, but it is still a very fast and very intuitive editor for anyone that is familiar with 3 point editing. Just need to get over the lingo change and some small workflow changes. Having the hardware controller makes the process much easier and better too.
