Lightweight prop table.

Any suggestions about making a "real" looking table that is really lightweight so that it can be manipulated with mono line? Producing a short where two guys are telekenetics and have mental fight...throwing table, chairs etc. with their minds.

Balsa wood would be a pretty good choice for constructing featherweight furniture. Sounds like a funny idea for a short.

If you want really light and really cheap then go to Home Depot or Lowes and get the pink foam board... whatever thickness you want... then get woodgrain contact paper. That should look plenty real for the camera if you light it right.

I always wanted to make myself a podium like that... and then just have it held in front of me and supported by hidden suspenders or something... then have the top LOADED with (fake) microphones... then anyplace I go I'll look really important. Imagine how cool it would be feeding the ducks like that... with them all swarming around and cackling in front of me.

Yes power is intoxicating. Maybe I'll get some Shop 'n Save bread tomorrow and feed the ducks as I give my State of the State Park Address.

Matt and Barry, BIG THANKS! I thought of blue foam, but other than monokote, didn't know what to coat it with.
