Hi there,
i have an idea for a new and cheap set of focus gears.
the equipment will mount directly onto the lens but give the same sort of manual control as found on the systems mounted on rods.
the catch is i need some information regarding the rotation ratio between the focus knob and the focus ring as used on a commercial setup.
I am not sure whether they are geared for speedy focus pulls or slow but accurate ones.
Can anyone tell me the number of turns of the focus knob to rotate the focus ring through its complete range.
So far i havn't seen anything as compact as the design I am working on or using the same method of gearing. The lack of rods and light weight, and maybe even the cheap price may make it work making a few for sale.
looking forward to hearing from you.
