Lightwave to After Effects

I haven't had any luck searching around and I know there are some Lightwave modelers on here.

Is there an efficient way to import a lightwave object into After Effects?

AE can't import any 3D objects. You'd have to render your scene to an image sequence or movie and import it into AE. I'm not sure about Lightwave, but AE can import camera, null, and lights from a variety of 3D programs. I'm pretty sure it can be done in LW too, maybe someone else can chime in on that or do a quick google search.

if you have cs4, import it into photoshop as a 3d object and then save it as a photoshop file. Then import that into AE. You should then be able to use AE's camera on the 3d object.
I haven't tried it yet but it looks to be the promising first steps of 3d integration into AE.
