Lights to meet project details

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good lighting kit or individual lights to purchase for a feature I am shooting. I do not know much about lights and am going to get some books and videos before I start production. But I need to have a budget made up before I actually beging filming again,
I was looking at kits on vistek and was not really sure what was right for me.

I will be filming alot of indoor shots, a few outdoor, and in vehicle shots.
I have intentions of transfering to 35 mm later, and am likely to be shooting
1080/ 24p. Thanks

This would depend completely on how you want the project to look and what your budget is. I would recommend renting lights first. I've found zip softs, kino banks, and 2 arri fresnel kits to be plenty for small shoots. Hope that helps.

There is no one light that does it all,
the best lighting kits kind of grow with you.

Kino flow make beautiful soft lights, Litepanels seem to be used a lot nowadays.
How about a couple of Redheads, and get some good softboxes for them?
